About the role

We’re recruiting for a Head of Product – Savings who will provide strategic management of the savings product range is central to the ongoing success of the Group. It’s purpose is to own and lead the strategy and management of the existing product range to deliver the corporate plan, support growth, drive efficiencies and meeting the needs of members. 

The role holder will lead a team of experienced product professionals as well as being responsible for the ongoing product management and strategy, leading the development of initiatives and programme to improve product performance, meet consumer duty requirements, simplify legacy portfolios and represent savings products across a range of wider Group programmes. It will also be responsible for the ongoing review and management of the product range, ensuring they deliver good customer outcomes. The role will require working closely across the business, especially with the wider Commercial Office teams. It will be the key contact point for savings product management, liaising with the wider business to ensure the right customer and commercial outcomes are delivered.

This role can operate from either our Head Office campus in Binley, Coventry or our Manchester office but as a Group role, travel to both locations will be required. A team-led hybrid working arrangement is in place.

About you

You’ll have an excellent understanding financial services, especially the savings market with strong influencing skills internally and externally. You’ll be able to lead a team of product managers who will oversight the trading success of the savings product area.

To be successful in this role it’s essential you have:

  • Strong senior leadership experience with a passion for developing others and driving high standards within financial services.
  • Deep understanding of the commercial drivers of retail banking products in particular savings products
  • Excellent knowledge and understanding of the UK deposits market
  • Project prioritisation experience as well as excellent presentation skills
  • A track record of commercial performance and product development
  • Good understanding of customer needs and the wider regulatory landscape
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience of developing and implementing strategy

Desirable experience needed will be:

  • Presenting to EXCO
  • Evidence of leading through an integration.
  • Skilled at navigating shifting priorities and evolving market conditions in a dual organisational setting.
