About the role

Coventry Building Society have a great opportunity for a Portfolio Management Officer (PMO) to join our Chief Information Digital Office (CIDO) area.

The role holder will facilitate and drive the co-ordination of activities across multiple agile teams, ensuring adherence to operational standards within the development lifecycle of CIDO Portfolios. The PMO will support the Strategic Value Case production across a broad scope of programmes and transformation activities across the agile release trains (ARTs).

Working closely and collaborating with the Central PMO team, the Senior Portfolio Management Officer (SPMO), and Release Train Engineer (RTE), as well as working with their respective teams within the Trains as appropriate. This role will provide input on the ART set by Product Managers to tracking the objectives and goals on the work that has been delivered by the trains.

The PMO will collaborate with the Central PMO team, their Senior PMO and their Trains/Teams to implement the CIDO metrics needed to assess progress, including ensuring minimum data quality standards and adherence to the centralised Delivery Framework. They will ensure that periodic assurance health checks are undertaken with Trains/Teams for continuous adherence to defined governance standards.  They will also provide day-to-day support around risks, dependencies, manage trackers for finances and resources, prep for quarterly PI Planning events, and similar activities in line with the PMO Service Catalogue.

We operate on a team led hybrid approach with this role requiring the successful candidate to be on site 1-2 days a week in the Coventry office.

About you

To be successful in this role it’s essential you have:

  • You’ll have the ability to build relationships, influence, and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
  • With a working knowledge of effective governance and assurance
  • In addition you’ll have experience of Financial and Resource Management processes.
  • Be comfortable with ambiguity and be able to handle the unexpected with flexibility
  • You’ll have the ability to communicate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences to help decision making and visualise dependencies;,
  • as well as using dashboards to analyse data and present it in a way that tells a story.

Desirable experience will be:

  • with an outline understanding of Scaled Agile Framework and/or other agile delivery.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and analytical skills across all stakeholder groups.
  • You’ll also be confident in understanding value realisation frameworks,
  • have a proven track record of working with cross-functional processes or IT delivery teams in a large Enterprise environment.
  • Knowledge of Jira
