About the role

To ensure that the Group complies with its legal and regulatory obligations and continues to mitigate Financial Crime risk, we are looking for an experienced Policy & Advisory Manager, with a background in drafting policies and standards within a retail banking environment to help shape the Group’s control framework. i.e. to help shape and maintain our control framework.

This newly created role offers the opportunity to shape and innovate the Group’s financial crime control framework. You’ll focus on the design, implementation, and maintenance of policies and standards, ensuring they reflect legal and regulatory requirements and are practical for the business. You’ll also be accountable for providing business areas with advice and guidance, on policy requirements and where complex cases are escalated to 2nd line. You will work with business areas to ensure that policies are effectively implemented and to ensure that requirements are built into new propositions and products as the Group continues to grow. You’ll monitor industry, regulatory and legislative developments to ensure that the Group’s framework remains effective and compliant.

Location: Coventry or Manchester. Team-led hybrid working arrangements apply.

 

About you

To be successful in this role we require the following skills:

Essential:

  • You’ll have extensive experience of all applicable Financial Crime regulation, legislation and peer practice within a retail banking environment, within 2nd line.
  • You’ll be comfortable with how this guidance applies across both personal and business customer types.
  •  You’ll have policy drafting experience, translating legislation and regulation into policies and standards, whilst taking into consideration broader industry practice.
  • You’ll have demonstrable experience of dealing with customer and policy escalations, delivering appropriate guidance on next steps and proposing evolutions to controls as required
  • You’ll have strong communications and team working skills, working in conjunction with business areas to ensure appropriate Financial Crime risk awareness and ensuring policy requirements are considered in new products and propositions.
