About the role

We are recruiting for a Senior Marketing Manager, reporting in to the Head of Marketing which will be a key leader in the Marketing Team and Commercial Office within the Society. This role is responsible for end to end Marketing for our Business and Commercial Banking pillar.

The role is to lead and inspire a team of Marketing professionals setting the agenda for the area of responsibility ensuring alignment to the strategic plan and shared goals. The role holder will be empowered to develop a strategy and report progress on the delivery of the objectives and key results driven by the strategy. It will hold the team to high standards to make sure all processes are followed appropriately and consistently, outputs are always technically accurate and reflect our brand visual identity and tone of voice.

The role has leadership responsibilities so it will be expected to role model our leadership capabilities and values as well as help the team develop and demonstrate the desired capabilities and values expected for their role also. As a senior leader this role will actively help the Marketing Team and Commercial Office succeed, collaborating with other leaders to problem solve and drive positive outcomes for the group (Coventry Building Society and The Co-operative Bank).

This role can operate from either our Head Office campus in Binley, Coventry or our Manchester office but as a Group role, travel to both locations will be required. A team-led hybrid working arrangement is in place.

About you

You’ll be an experienced leader with an understanding of setting strategy and managing delivery to the plan. You will be committed to developing your team and the wider Marketing Team. You will inspire others, helping to drive motivation and engagement.

To be successful in this role it’s essential you have:

  • Strong senior leadership experience in marketing and financial services.
  • Experience of developing others and driving high standards.
  • Project prioritisation experience as well as excellent presentation skills.
  • Good understanding of customer needs and the wider regulatory landscape.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Experience of developing and implementing strategy.

Desirable experience needed will be:

  • Commercial and / or business banking.
  • Evidence of leading through an integration.
  • Skilled at navigating shifting priorities and evolving market conditions in a dual organisational setting.
