About the role

We have 12-month fixed term contract opportunitys for a Product Risk Manager to join our first‑line Product Governance team to lead in the assessment of our products against governing regulation (e.g. Consumer Duty, BCOB’s, etc), oversight best practice in the management and solution design of risk events and new regulatory standards. 

The role holder will take ownership of Fair Value Assessments for a specific product category, using analytical skills to assess the performance of the product against the 4 Consumer Duty outcomes. This will include the identification of data trends to support analysis of customer outcomes and working with product and other risk teams to assess the impact of product changes, risk events or emerging regulation to determine a products overall operating risk from which solutions can be designed and put in place to deliver good outcomes where required.

It’s essential that high‑quality assessments are produced, that insights are clearly presented to key committees, and that additional risk analysis is developed in response to data led customer behaviour trends.

Collaboration is central to the role, working closely with the Product Governance Manager, fellow Product Risk Managers and Product Managers across Homes, Everyday Banking, Business and Commercial to deliver strong, customer‑focused outcomes.

Location: We operate on a team-led hybrid approach with sites visits to the Coventry & / or Manchester office as and when needed (Usually once a month)

About you

We’re looking for someone who is naturally curious, self‑motivated and comfortable working independently.

For this role you’ll need to have:

  • You’ll be an effective communicator, able to express complex information clearly in both written and verbal form.
  • Experience in preparing papers or reports for senior committees or governance forums is important.
  • You’ll be confident building strong working relationships with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders, and collaborating in a constructive and respectful way.
  • You’ll have a solid understanding of risk management principles, the regulatory environment and how risk frameworks operate in practice.
  • Strong analytical thinking, planning skills, attention to detail and accuracy are key to success in this role
  • You’ll bring a thoughtful, problem‑solving mindset, able to investigate issues, develop practical solutions and support good customer outcomes.

Experience in these areas would be helpful:

  • Strong experience in the development and management of data to investigate trend that support robust and customer centric solutions
