About the role

We have the new opportunity to join us a Social Impact Senior Specialist. This role will be passionate about driving meaningful social impact, using their expertise to advance the Group’s priorities in tackling homelessness and building financial resilience in our communities. Working closely with internal and external partners, the person in post will identify practical and purposeful ways to support underserved communities and help maximise positive outcomes.

Bringing energy and insight to the Social Impact team, the role holder will support thought leadership, campaigning and best‑practice bench marking. They will also manage key charity partnerships, oversee KPIs and ensure hardship funding is used effectively. By collaborating across the business, including with the Chief Commercial Office, the Social Impact Senior Specialist will help shape products and services that enhance financial inclusion and strengthen the Group’s broader social impact ambitions.

The Social Impact Senior Specialist will play an active role in research and campaigning, working with colleagues in Corporate Communications to raise the Group’s profile on social impact issues. Strong relationship‑building and networking will be essential as they engage with charities, experts and colleagues. With a keen eye for risk and regulatory alignment, the role holder will apply insight, analysis and challenge to develop effective solutions to complex social issues—making a significant contribution to the Group’s purpose‑led goals.

This role can operate from either our Head Office campus in Binley, Coventry or our Manchester office but travel to both locations will be required. A team-led hybrid working arrangement is in place.

About you

For this role you’ll need to have:

  • Experience in working in third sector, public sector or within a corporate social impact team. 
  • Experience of working with the challenges different communities face when it comes to financial resilience, and an understanding of what financial institutions can do to help
  • Experience in working with the issues surrounding homelessness and what successful interventions look like.
  • Highly developed stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Ability to collaborate and be proactive, with a track record of managing change
  • Existing networks of people who can advise on social impact issues
