Summary

About the role

The combination of Coventry Building Society and The Co‑operative Bank has created the UK’s seventh‑largest mortgage lender and a strong mutual alternative to the big banks across retail and business banking.

We have a 12-month FTC opportunity as a Proposition Manager to join a newly formed Business & Commercial Banking Proposition team at an early and influential stage of its journey. The team is building its proposition capability from the ground up, so this role is suited to a solid Proposition Manager or someone with strong sector knowledge who can bring depth of expertise, shape ways of working and help establish best practice across the team.

The team is dedicated to making a genuine difference for our customers, communities, and the planet. We focus on creating solutions that truly matter, ensuring our work is relevant and impactful for everyone we serve.

The role focuses on the customer value proposition, why customer choose the Group and how they are built and evolved. Working with key stakeholders, the focus is on customer definition alongside the development and delivery of a clear customer strategy, shaping the end‑to‑end customer journey,  and ensuring propositions are differentiated through strong market and competitor insight.

The role supports the Product team on their commercial objectives, translating customer needs and insight into compelling propositions that drive sustainable growth.

Day to day, the role covers a broad range of business and commercial banking products, including current accounts, lending, and deposits.

The role holder will work closely with teams across Product, Pricing, Marketing, Digital, Finance, Compliance and Customer insights to improve existing propositions and create new ones, acting as the proposition expert and ensuring proposition thinking is reflected in wider initiatives and regulatory change.

This is a role for someone who is curious, commercially minded and comfortable influencing across an organisation, with the opportunity to support and guide along with an industry strong Senior Manager.

We operate on a team-led hybrid approach at least once a quarter in the Coventry & / or Manchester office

Our benefits include:

  • 28 days holiday a year plus bank holidays and a holiday buy/sell scheme
  • Annual discretionary bonus scheme
  • Personal pension with matched contributions
  • Life assurance (6 times annual salary)
