Summary

About the role

We're looking for a proactive and reliable individual to join our Group Protective Security Operations Centre (GSOC) as a Security and Control Room Operator.

Based at our Coventry head office, the person in post will play a central role in delivering effective protective security operations, contributing to the safety and security of our people, assets and premises. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to operate within a dynamic, technology‑enabled environment that goes beyond traditional security roles.

The role holder will be responsible for monitoring and operating CCTV, intruder alarms and access control systems, ensuring all incidents are identified and responded to in a timely and effective manner. As part of a 24/7 control room function, the person in post will act as the first point of contact for all security‑related matters, managing incidents, coordinating responses, liaising with emergency services and key stakeholders, and maintaining accurate records through security systems.

In addition, the person in post will support the wider security function by maintaining service levels across systems, processes and procedures, and contributing to the organisation’s overall security strategy. The role holder will conduct site patrols and attend premises where required, while delivering a professional and customer‑focused service to colleagues, visitors and partners. They will also ensure compliance through accurate record‑keeping, including audit trails, incident logs and security documentation in line with regulatory and organisational standards.

Our Security Operations Centre operates 24 hours per day, 7 days a week. The shift pattern includes days and nights, using 12 hours shifts, with 4 shifts on and 4 shifts off.

Our benefits include:
  • 28 days holiday a year plus bank holidays and a holiday buy/sell scheme
  • Annual discretionary bonus scheme
  • Personal pension with enhanced contributions
  • Maternity, paternity and shared parental leave
  • Extensive wellbeing support
  • Life assurance (6 times annual salary)
