About the role

Coventry Building Society is looking for a Social Media Content Creator to join its social media team on a 6-month fixed term contract. This hands-on role focuses on bringing organic social media content to life through smart strategy, creative planning and high-quality execution. The successful candidate will be an innovative thinker who enjoys testing new ideas and is confident capturing and editing engaging, social‑first content that reflects the brand’s voice and ambitions.

Reporting into the Social Media Lead, the role works closely with a wider team to produce content for both Coventry Building Society and the Co‑operative Bank brands. Responsibilities include developing ideas from concept through to filming and editing, supporting content calendars and production planning, and collaborating with multiple teams to gain buy-in and deliver work that is on brand, compliant and accessible. The role also involves monitoring performance, analysing insights and trends, and using these learnings to continually improve content effectiveness.

This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring organic social media content is scroll‑stopping, strategically aligned and resonates with a zillennial audience. The ideal candidate will be confident making recommendations on channel, purpose and format, while also being comfortable pushing back when content does not meet brand or strategic standards. A collaborative mindset, strong creative judgement and a passion for social media are essential to success in this role.

The role can be based in either Manchester or Coventry Head Office, but travel will be required to both locations. A team-led hybrid working arrangement is in place with 1 day a week in the office.

Our benefits include:

  • 28 days holiday a year plus bank holidays and a holiday buy/sell scheme
  • Annual discretionary bonus scheme
  • Personal pension with matched contributions
  • Life assurance (6 times annual salary)
