About the role

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to play a key role in a major core banking transformation. The role holder will support the design and delivery of a customer-centric data architecture, creating a single, trusted view of the customer across multiple brands, products, and platforms.

Working closely with business, technology, and data teams, the person in post will establish customer data mastering capabilities, support the migration from legacy systems, and design modern data integration solutions. The role will also help shape a cloud-based data ecosystem, enabling real-time insights, advanced analytics, strong governance, and effective financial and regulatory reporting.

This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic and hands-on Data Architect who is passionate about improving customer outcomes, driving operational efficiency, and supporting business growth through data.

We operate on a team led hybrid approach with at least 1 – 2 days a week in the Coventry office.

About you

We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Architect to support enterprise-wide data architecture within large transformation programmes, ideally in financial services or other regulated environments.

You'll design customer-centric data solutions, including customer mastering, identity resolution, and single customer view capabilities, while translating business needs into scalable architectural solutions. Strong stakeholder management and the ability to influence senior leaders are essential.

You'll bring expertise in data migration and modernisation, cloud and legacy environments, data governance, integration architecture, and data modelling. Experience with cloud data platforms, analytics, CRM, MDM, core banking, or enterprise data transformation programmes is highly desirable.

 

For this role you’ll need to have:

  • Proven experience delivering enterprise-wide data architecture within large-scale transformation programmes, ideally in financial services or other regulated environments.
  • Strong expertise in customer data management, including MDM, identity resolution, golden records, and single customer view capabilities.
  • Experience of data migration and modernisation initiatives across legacy and cloud-based environments.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, data quality, integration architecture, and data modelling best practices.
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud-based data and analytics platforms, preferably within AWS.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence senior business and technology leaders and drive architecture governance.
  • Qualifications in Data Architecture (or related qualification) and/or experience in a commercial environment.
 Experience in these areas would be helpful:
  • Experience delivering data architecture within large transformation programmes.
  • Exposure to core banking, customer platforms, CRM, and MDM solutions.
  • Experience with cloud data services and enterprise data modernisation.
