About the role

Our People Team are recruiting and are looking for an experienced Senior People Advisor to join them on a 12 month basis.

This role is a great opportunity for an experienced and collaborative HR professional to work proactively with our leaders and wider People Team primarily to support with the design and delivery of a number of organisational change projects, as the organisation goes through a period of integration. Being a strong influencer and trusted advisor to business leaders will be an important part of this role.

The role holder will work with the business to improve leadership and management capability, it will guide, coach and challenge leaders, on best practice HR and have brilliant conversations. Being a champion of our people vision this role will work closely with the wider People team to ensure that the people aspects of the Society’s strategy are planned and delivered to an exceptional level.

The Senior People Advisor role works closely with the People Partners and other People Advisors and, whilst the main focus for the role will be change management, the role holder will bring broad HR experience to the role and be able to operate across the full spectrum of HR advice and support. It will have a focus on managing the Employee Relations agenda as well as supporting the management of the Trade Union relationship and building partnering relationships with managers and leaders.

This role will be a catalyst for change and responsible for People initiatives and projects from inception through to delivery. Tracking and monitoring progress of initiatives and ensure projects are delivered to time, budget and aligned to our values will also be key tasks.

The role can be based in either Manchester or our Head Office campus in Binley, Coventry but travel will be required to both locations. A team-led hybrid working arrangement is in place.

About you

To be successful you’ll be passionate about being part of an organisation that cares about member and colleague experience.

To be successful in this role it’s essential that you will have:

  • Extensive People advisory experience
  • Excellent knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice
  • Experience of organisation design and change implementation
  • CIPD qualification or equivalent
  • Project management experience
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and ability to influence key decision makers

Desirable experience needed will be:

  • Experience of developing policies and procedures
  • Financial services background
